German Rubber industry calls for regulation on end of life tyres

Following the attention garnered by the BBC exposé on the poor state of the tyre recycling industry in the UK, The German Rubber Industry Association (wdk) has called for a comprehensive review into the treatment of end of life tyres. "Is this waste or already a raw material" is the tag line and their ask is for binding regulation for Germany and indeed all of Europe to strengthen the recycling segment and facilitate investment in modern technologies to reduce the CO2 footprint of the rubber and tyre industry.
